SFEIS Framework ROD clearcuts

This picture is one acre out of 5000 acres of group selection that were grandfathered in as part of the original Sierra Framework ROD. The January 2004 SFEIS Framework ROD is implementing 9000 acres of these clearcuts a year in the QLG area. So given what Chief Bosworth said, "We have to do a better job of communicating with the public (about) these decisions so at least everybody understands what the decisions are," shouldn't the glossy brochure for "Forests with a Future" have included a photo like this? Obviously, the problem is that if they did that "at least everybody" would understand the result of their decisions. The glossy brochure, much less showing photos of clearcuts, had no depiction of any logging at all."
