| Mission The Forest Issues Group (FIG) is a 501 (c)(3), community based, citizens advocacy group that reviews, monitors and responds to projects of the Tahoe National Forest. Our activities include researching biological, silvicultural, ecological and recreational activities that affect the health of the Tahoe National Forest. Public education is also a part of our activities, including press releases, appearances on electronic media and informing elected officials and government agencies. FIG focuses its on-the-ground activities on the public lands of the Tahoe National Forest. However, we are also concerned with the U.S. Forest Service management planning on the other Sierran Forests, and how this management and private timber sales impact the Tahoe National Forest. | |
